If you’re looking for a different kind of rimfire rifle setup, the Franklin Armory F17V4 upper assembly offers a practical alternative to traditional .22LR ARs. Here in Kansas, that means a flatter trajectory for shots at varmints and small game out to extended ranges, whether you’re dealing with pests around the farm or enjoying a day of hunting. It also makes for a fun and different experience at the range.

Important Considerations for Use in Kansas
The F17V4 requires an A2 style or rifle-length buffer tube and spring for proper cycling and function. It’s worth noting some aftermarket trigger systems might not provide consistent ignition with the 17WSM cartridge. We recommend checking with the trigger manufacturer to ensure compatibility, specifically looking for a full-power hammer spring and a full-weight hammer. This upper is a little different than a standard .223/5.56, so be aware of those differences.
The 17WSM cartridge typically offers flatter trajectories than .22LR, which is useful for those longer shots frequently found in Kansas fields. It’s also a good option for controlling pests on larger properties.
