How It’s Built

CZ Custom doesn’t take shortcuts with this pistol. The frame starts as a forging, then is CNC-machined and blued for durability and a classic look. The heavy-duty dust cover really cuts down on felt recoil and muzzle flip – important when you’re trying to stay on target for fast follow-up shots. For a solid grip, the frame features a deep beavertail, an undercut trigger guard, and aggressive 25 lines-per-inch checkering. It also includes an integrated magwell for quicker reloads.

Trigger and Internals

The trigger system is where the A01-LD really stands out. Both the hammer and sear are pinned directly into the frame, which makes for a more consistent and predictable trigger pull. You can expect a double-action pull weight around 8 to 8.5 pounds and a single-action pull between 3 and 3.5 pounds. The trigger itself is taken from the CZ 85 Combat model, known for its feel and reliability. This isn’t a range toy; it’s built for precision.

Slide, Barrel, and Sights

The slide is CNC-machined from 4140 steel with both front and rear serrations for a positive grip. It’s topped with a CZ Custom low-mount rear sight and a fiber optic front sight for fast target acquisition. The barrel is a 4.925” match-grade bull barrel made from 416 stainless steel, providing excellent accuracy.

Magazine Compatibility

The A01-LD uses the magazine platform from the CZ P-09, P-07, and P-10 pistols. It ships with two 19-round magazines – useful for competition or range days. This means finding extra magazines is straightforward, as those models are popular.
