What it’s good for
This Winchester XPR combo is a straightforward rifle for Nebraska hunters pursuing deer, antelope, or varmints. The .270 WSM cartridge offers a flat trajectory and good energy for longer shots across the prairie. It’s also suitable for anyone looking for a reliable bolt-action for target shooting at the range. The adjustable trigger and free-floating barrel help with accuracy, but it provides a simple, dependable setup without a lot of extra features. The included Vortex scope is already bore-sighted, making it easier to get on paper.
Things to consider
The synthetic stock is durable and weather-resistant, but doesn’t offer the adjustability of more expensive stocks. The 3-round magazine is sufficient for hunting, but competitors might prefer a higher capacity. The trigger adjustment is nice, but you’ll need a screwdriver to make adjustments. The recoil pad helps, but .270 WSM still has some kick.
